We Have Nothing To Fear, But Fear Itself!

We Have Nothing To Fear, But Fear Itself!

I wanted to take this opportunity to say Job Well Done, Senator Obama. He ran a good campaign and he invoked something into the people of America, that being the call for Change. Earlier today, I was given a call by the Atlanta Associated Press for a statement. She had told me that Republicans are talking about the end of times and cannibalism. I told her what John McCain told us earlier this year at a campaign rally, "We have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency” And I will not play these games and try to bring down our country by trying to instill fear into everyone.

Last night while I was watching the concession speech of John McCain and the acceptance speech of Barack Obama, I was disgusted by my own party with their boos and hissing that came from the audience when McCain mentioned Obama, and you could tell it bothered McCain as well. But then I watched Obama, and when he mentioned McCain the people cheered for his record of service. America is not blind to what McCain has sacrificed for this country, but the majority of Americans, believe in Obama and what he will bring to the White House.

Now there are those who can sit here and think about 2012 and taking back the White House, but that is the furthest thing from my mind. Right now we have serious problems we have to address across this country and it is going to take every American working together to tackle these problems head on. We are a nation that can do anything and I know better days are ahead. As I told the reporter from the Atl. AP, I said I believe in what Obama said about it not being about Red and Blue states, but it being about America as a whole. For too long we have divided ourselves and now we see the cost of this division.

Americans are fed up with the way things are going in Washington. We are ready to see a new frontier in politics. It's time to remove the divide throughout this nation and stand together as one party, as I have said many times before, The American Party.

Therefore, I stand behind President Elect Obama and will do so to ensure that this country moves forward. He promised to listen to the people, so make your voices heard. The Bush Administration ignored the voices for far too long and we now see the impact of his actions all across this country. Obama said to the people who he had not yet earned their trust, he will make every effort to unite us and bring us altogether. We can start in this process, by putting away or McCain Palin signs and welcoming in a new era of politics.

I along with many others felt comfort in Obama's words last night and quite frankly I am excited for this new era we are about to face together. We can make a difference in this world whether we are Republican or Democrat, Black or White, Rich or Poor, Gay or Straight. We are all the same in one special and unique way. We are all Americans. Lets begin this new era together as one nation under God, indivisible, so that liberty and justice will continue to prevail for all.

On a special note, to all Obama supporters, Job Well Done! I know your victory is sweet and you have earned it, because it wasn't just Senator Obama who did this, it was the hard work of fine Americans like you who believed in the power of democracy, who believed there is a better way and brought forth a revolution of change that will be echoed for centuries to come. Congratulations to President Elect Obama. I stand behind you and I will support your cause, because your cause is the will of the American people. We can learn a lot from elections, and I always have taken with me this one thing, that whoever the winner is, it’s the American people behind that winner that asked for this change in policy and leadership. So instead of worrying about replacing Obama in 2012, I think we need to start paying more attention to the voices of the American people who called upon this change. Its time we start anew and change the way we conduct ourselves politically because our current methods aren't working.

America was built on the promise of change. And that change is never ending. We constantly are changing for the better idea and to make life better for all Americans. I urge all Americans to stand with our new President and support him and his efforts to tackle the multitude of issues our country currently faces. For if we continue down the same path, throwing blockades up at every turn, unwilling to bend, unwilling to change, then we will be the architects of our own demise. We have nothing to fear, but fear itself. And for those who don't feel comfort as of yet, read Psalms 23. "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me." All throughout our lives we are faced with adversity. It's how we face those challenges that make us into better people and better Americans. I am proud today of our country for moving this nation forward. My pride in my country has only been strengthened because once again we have proven anything is possible in America.
