URGENT: Save AIDS and Malaria Funding

Please Take Action Now To Save Lives

The foreign assistance budget, which contains critical AIDS and malaria funding, is being threatened – and we need your urgent action now! The Senate Budget committee has cut $4 billion (7.4 percent) of the President’s foreign assistance budget.

An amendment to restore funding could come to the Senate floor as early as tomorrow (April 1). Here’s how to help:

1. Contact your senator today! Ask them to support the Kerry-Lugar amendment (that could be voted on as early as tomorrow!) and ensure that AIDS and malaria programs are protected. Get started at http://tinyurl.com/savefunding

2. Recruit your friends to advocate on the AIDS petition. More than 84,000 of you have signed the petition to fight global AIDS. Recruit your friends and we can hit 100,000 standing strong against AIDS. http://apps.facebook.com/causes/petitions/16?m=5d40daf8

3. Recruit friends to take action to end malaria, which kills 2,000 children every day. World Malaria Day is April 25.

Now more than ever, we must raise awareness and advocate; here’s how:
